1. A computer-implemented method for determining risk factors, the computer-implemented method comprising:
determining a level of classification for each piece of data of one or more pieces of data, the one or more pieces of data received over a communications link from a communications unit;
determining a layer of encryption for each piece of data of the one or more pieces of data;
determining a type of encryption for each piece of data of the one or more pieces of data;
determining other mechanisms applied to each piece of data of the one or more pieces of data;
determining a first constant for the layer of encryption, a second constant for the type of encryption, a third constant for the other mechanisms applied; and
calculating a risk factor for each piece of data of the one or more pieces of data, wherein the risk factor is calculated using the equation:
where: C is the level classification of the data, L is the layer of encryption of the data, M is the type of encryption of the data, O is other mechanism applied, α is the first constant, β is the second constant, and γ is the third constant.
