1. A light emitting unit comprising:
a light source;
an optical part including a light incident surface, the light incident surface facing the light source;
a wavelength conversion member provided between the light source and the light incident surface; and
a holding member holding the wavelength conversion member at a position between the light source and the light incident surface of the optical part,
wherein the holding member includes a tapered section provided to guide a light of the light source, a first non-tapered section contiguous with the tapered section and having a reflective surface adjacent the wavelength conversion member, and a second non-tapered section for holding the light source, and wherein along the light source to wavelength conversion member direction the tapered section (i) is positioned between the light source and the wavelength conversion member, (ii) extends to the light source, and (iii) does not extend past the light source or the wavelength conversion member.
