1. A computer system for providing services for a video game application, the computer system comprising:
a memory;
one or more data stores including computer-readable instructions;
one or more processors configured to execute the computer-readable instructions to perform operations comprising:
receiving a first request for a first player to play in a first mode of the video game application, wherein the first player has progressed to a first progression point of a progression track of the video game application in a second mode, wherein completion of one or more first progression objectives advances the first player along the progression track in the second mode;
receiving a second request for a second player to play in the first mode of the video game application, wherein the second player has progressed to a second progression point of the progression track of the video game application in the second mode, wherein completion of one or more second progression objectives advances the second player along the progression track in the second mode;
determining at least a first objective from among the one or more first progression objectives and at least a second objective from among the one or more second progression objectives; and
instantiating an instance of the video game application in the first mode for the first player and the second player, wherein the instance of the first mode includes the first objective and the second objective.
