1. A system, comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more memories having processor-executable instructions stored thereon;
wherein the processor-executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, facilitate performance of the following by the system:
determining a time point with regard to puncturing a vessel of a patient in preparation for treating the patient via the punctured vessel using a blood treatment apparatus;
determining whether an amount of time that has elapsed since the determined time point exceeds a maximum permissible time period between puncturing the vessel and starting a blood treatment provided via the punctured vessel; and
in response to determining that the amount of time that has elapsed since the determined time point exceeds the maximum permissible time period between puncturing the vessel and starting the blood treatment via the punctured vessel, blocking, at least temporarily, execution of at least one function of the blood treatment apparatus.
