1. A surgical instrument, comprising:
an end effector configured to grasp tissue, the end effector comprising:
a jaw; and
a staple cartridge seatable in the jaw, wherein the staple cartridge comprises a cartridge antenna circuit coupled with a sensor array configured to sense a parameter and generate one or more signals indicative thereof;
a control circuit configured to receive and process the signals from the sensor array;
a power source configured to supply power to the staple cartridge; and
a transmission system coupled with the power source and the control circuit and comprising an instrument antenna circuit and configured to:
determine a configuration of the instrument antenna circuit and/or cartridge antenna circuit, and based thereon:
wirelessly transmit the power from the power source, via the instrument antenna circuit, to the cartridge antenna circuit to enable operation of the sensor array, and wirelessly transmit the generated one or more signals, via the cartridge antenna circuit, to the instrument antenna circuit, from the sensor array to the control circuit, wherein, based on the determined configuration, the power is transmitted simultaneously with the transmission of the data or the power is transmitted alternately with the transmission of the data;
monitor an efficiency of a transfer of the power from the surgical instrument to the staple cartridge via the instrument and cartridge antenna circuits during operation of the sensor array; and
adjust a transfer parameter based on the efficiency of the transfer.
