1. A power transmitter comprising:
a power transfer coil, wherein the power transfer coil is arranged to transfer power to a power receiver using a power transfer signal;
a first communicator circuit,
wherein the first communicator circuit is configured to receive first data from the power receiver using a first communication channel,
wherein the first communication channel utilizes, at least in part, modulation of the power transfer signal;
a second communicator circuit,
wherein the second communicator circuit is configured to receive power transfer control data from the power receiver using a second communication channel,
wherein the second communication channel is independent of the power transfer signal;
a presence detector circuit, wherein the presence detector circuit is configured to determine an absence of the power receiver using a proximity of the power receiver to the power transfer coil, wherein the proximity is detected in a response to the first data and
a power transfer controller circuit, wherein the power transfer controller circuit is configured to restrict the wireless power transfer in response to a detection of the absence of the power receiver
wherein the power transfer signal uses a repeating time frame,
wherein the repeating time frame comprises at least one power transfer time interval and at least one reduced power time interval,
wherein a power level of the power transfer signal is reduced during the reduced power time interval,
wherein the reduction of power during the reduced time interval is relative to the power transfer during the power transfer time interval,
wherein the first communicator circuit is arranged to receive the first data during one or more of the at least one of the reduced power time interval(s).
