1. A hand holdable rangefinding instrument comprising:
a laser transmitting section for transmitting laser energy to first and second mutually fixed in relationship target coordinates from respectively disparate first and second origin points;
a laser energy receiving section for receiving laser energy reflected back to said instrument from said first and second target coordinates; and
a processor section coupled to said laser transmitting and laser energy receiving sections for calculating ranges from said instrument to said first and second target coordinates, said processor section configured to compensate for displacement between said disparate first and second origin points in three dimensional space and determine a distance between said first and second target coordinates.
