1. A system comprising:
a first positional sensing device configured to monitor a first area comprising:
a pulse generator for generating pulses;
a sensor for measuring data regarding a phase shift or amplitude change in modulated pulses from the pulse generator to one or more detected objects;
a first module for converting the data regarding the phase shift or amplitude change into (i) positional data and (ii) timestamp data for the one or more detected objects;
a server remote from the first positional sensing device wherein the server is communicatively coupled to the first positional sensing device via a network, the server being configured to:
receive the (i) positional data and (ii) timestamp data for the one or more detected objects from the first positional sensing device; and
determine a trajectory for each of the one or more detected objects through the first area based on the (i) positional data and (ii) timestamp data.
