1. A steel for a mold, comprising:
0.070≤C≤0.130 mass %,
0.01≤Si≤0.60 mass %,
0.02≤Mn≤0.60 mass %,
0.003≤P≤0.150 mass %,
0.005≤Cu≤0.21 mass %,
0.005≤Ni≤0.80 mass %,
7.50≤Cr≤8.40 mass %,
0.80≤Mo≤1.20 mass %,
0.01≤V≤0.30 mass %,
0.025≤Al≤0.091 mass %, and
0.027≤N≤0.095 mass %,
with the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, and
wherein the steel has a hardness measured in a temperature range of 15° C. or more and 35° C. or less of 32 HRC or more and 44 HRC or less, and
an average absorbed energy measured in a temperature range of 15° C. or more and 35° C. or less of 20 J or more.
