1. A reception apparatus, comprising:
a display; and
circuitry configured to:
receive a basic stream and an extended stream, the extended stream including an encoded subset of frames of first video data of a first frame rate and the basic stream including encoded frames of second video data of a second frame rate lower than the first frame rate, each frame of the second video data representing a blending of two or more adjacent frames of the first video data,
obtain blending information, the blending information providing one of a plurality of blending rates for each pixel of a respective frame of the first video data, the blending rate being based on a luminance value of the pixel, at least one of the plurality of blending rates having a corresponding luminance range,
decode the basic stream to obtain the second video data of the second frame rate,
decode the extended stream to obtain the subset of frames of the first video data,
obtain unblended video data at the first frame rate by performing an unblending process on the second video data on a basis of the plurality of blending rates and the at least one corresponding luminance range, and
control the display in accordance with the first video data or the second video data.
