1. A computer server, comprising:
an object definition library storing a plurality of objects for a plurality of point of care devices, each object comprising processor implementable code for a generic function to be performed by a point of care computer on an output of a point of care device in response to reception of the output of the point of care device;
an instantiation parameter data store storing instantiation data configured for use in instantiating objects as processing objects for functions to be performed in response to outputs from point of care devices, wherein the instantiation data includes data identifying a sequence of said objects for at least one said point of care device;
a network interface connected to a network and;
a programmed processor connected to the network interface, the definition object library and the instantiation parameter data store to control the network interface to access the instantiation data in the instantiation parameter data and the objects in the object definition library and to instantiate the objects using instantiation data for at least one of the plurality of point of care devices to generate code comprising a sequence of instantiated objects configured to be executed by the at least one point of care computer to perform a respective plurality of specific processing functions to process an output from a point of care device in accordance with the sequence of objects
wherein the network interface is controlled by the programmed processor to transmit the generated code to the at least one point of care computer to enable the at least one point of care computer to perform a respective plurality of specific processing functions to process an output from a point of care device in accordance with the sequence of instantiated objects.
