1. A computer-implemented method performed by one or more processors of a storage node of a first cluster of a multi-site distributed storage system, the computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving events, with the storage node of the first cluster, that are associated with a continuity relationship for the first cluster and a second cluster of the multi-site distributed storage system;
coordinating, with a mediator agent, the events including a first event of a first member of the first cluster and a second event of a second member of the first cluster that duplicates the first event; and
terminating, with the mediator agent, the second event that duplicates the first event.
