1. An information handling system comprising:
a housing;
a processor disposed in the housing and operable to execute instructions that process information;
a memory disposed in the housing and operable to store the instructions and information;
a first set of one or more communication ports disposed in the housing and interfaced with the processor;
a peripheral display separate from the housing and having a second set of one or more communication ports, the peripheral display interfaced with the processor by a cable coupled between one of the first set of communication ports and one of the second set of communication ports, the peripheral display operable to present the information as visual images;
plural peripheral devices interfaced with the second set of communication ports, the peripheral devices including a set of human interface devices (HID) and a set of non-HID; and
a KVM switch interfaced with the second set of communication ports and operable to selectively interface all of the plural peripheral devices with the one of the first set of communication ports, none of the plural peripheral devices with the one of the first set of communication ports, and some but not all of the plural peripheral devices with the one of the first set of communication ports, the KVM switch having a first communication hub interfaced with the HID, a second communication hub interfaced with the non-HID, and third and fourth communication hubs, each of the third and fourth communications hubs interfaced with both the first and second communication hubs and configured to interface with the first set of one or more communications ports to selectively interface the HID and non-HID with the processor.
