1. An application control system for an eyewear device, the system comprising:
a sensing circuit configured to track a finger skin surface;
a memory storing instructions, a user identification application, a user application, a gesture application, and an application programming interface (API) configured to authorize a user of the eyewear device and to control the user application; and
a processor coupled to the sensing circuit and configured to execute the instructions to configure the eyewear device to:
authorize the user through a series of one or more calls to the API;
execute the user application on the eyewear device;
configure the API after authorization of the user to enable gestures for controlling the user application;
identify a gesture from the enabled gestures responsive to the finger skin surface tracked via the sensing circuit; present visual content for viewing by the user of the eyewear device; and
manipulate the presented content to control the user application responsive to the identified gesture.
