1. A method of operating a wireless device, comprising:
obtaining data for transmission in a guard interval (GI)-based waveform with a data part and a tail part;
obtaining a unique word (UW) sequence for the tail part;
obtaining a suppression signal with filter coefficients configured to suppress leakage from the data part to the tail part;
mapping the data, the UW sequence, and the suppression signal to a set of reserved time-domain resources based on a time-domain resource mapping and reservation rule to produce Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) input data;
performing DFT processing on the DFT input data to produce Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) input data;
performing IFFT processing on the IFFT input data to produce the GI-based waveform with the data part and the tail part; and
transmitting the GI-based waveform.
