1. A method of preparing a composite, the method comprising:
contacting a reaction gas and silicon dioxide to provide a reaction gas-contacted silicon dioxide, wherein the reaction gas comprises a carbon source gas; and
thermally treating the reaction gas-contacted silicon dioxide to prepare the composite,
wherein the composite comprises
particles comprising
a silicon oxide of the formula SiO2 and a silicon oxide of the formula SiOx wherein 0<x<2, or
a silicon oxide of the formula SiOx wherein 0<x<2, and graphene,
wherein the particles comprising the silicon oxide of the formula SiO2 and the silicon oxide of the formula SiOx wherein 0<x<2, or the silicon oxide of the formula SiOx wherein 0<x<2, are surrounded by the graphene and are interconnected with each other in a graphene matrix.
