1. A method of displaying, within an electronic map application on a user device, a text string from another application separate and distinct from the electronic map application, wherein the electronic map application comprises multiple user interface pages enabling a user to interact with the electronic map application, the method comprising:
detecting that a first user interface page of the multiple user interface pages of the electronic map application is open;
finding, without the user initiating a text pasting operation, in a repository temporally storing user-copied text, a text string copied from an application that is separate and distinct from the electronic map application, wherein the text string has not been entered by the user in the electronic map application, and wherein the text string indicates a location;
determining an interval between a time at which the text string is copied from the application and a time at which the first user interface page is opened;
comparing the interval to a preset threshold;
determining the interval is valid based on the interval not being greater than the preset threshold; and
displaying, within the electronic map application and based on the interval being determined to be valid, the text string to enable the user to interact with the electronic map application using the location indicated by the text string.
