1. A computing system comprising:
a network interface;
at least one processor;
a non-transitory computer-readable medium; and
program instructions stored on the non-transitory computer-readable medium that are executable by the at least one processor such that the computing system is capable of:
presenting a first perspective that comprises at least a first widget, the first widget including at least a first visual indicator that represents respective portions of source data populated via a first node of a semantic network, wherein the semantic network comprises (i) a plurality of nodes and (ii) at least one link, wherein each link links together two or more of the nodes;
receiving a selection of the first visual indicator;
creating a filter comprising first filter criteria based on the respective portions of source data represented by the selected first visual indicator;
identifying a second perspective to be presented, wherein identifying the second perspective comprises (i) determining whether the first node has an associated default perspective assigned to the first node and (ii) if the determination is that the first node has an associated default perspective, selecting the associated default perspective as the second perspective, but if the determination is that the first node does not have an associated default perspective, dynamically creating the second perspective;
presenting the second perspective, wherein the second perspective comprises at least a second widget, the second widget including one or more second visual indicators that represent respective portions of source data populated via a second node of the semantic network;
applying the filter to the second perspective such that the one or more second visual indicators represent respective portions of the source data populated via the second node and filtered according to the filter;
presenting a perspective filter comprising a plurality of fields that may be used to further filter data, wherein each field of the plurality of fields corresponds to a respective node of the semantic network;
receiving a selection of second filter criteria, wherein the second filter criteria comprises at least one value, wherein each value of the at least one value is associated with a respective field from the plurality of fields of the perspective filter, and wherein each respective field from the plurality of fields corresponds to a respective node of the semantic network that is different than the first and second nodes of the semantic network;
modifying the filter based on the selection of second filter criteria; and
applying the modified filter to the second perspective such that the one or more second visual indicators represent respective portions of the source data populated via the second node and filtered according to the modified filter.
