1. A hose comprising:
an inner tube,
a reinforcement layer disposed outwardly from the inner tube, and
a cover layer disposed outwardly from the reinforcement layer;
wherein the inner tube is formed from a first EPDM rubber compound comprising:
an EPDM sustainable polymer including ethylene monomer derived from plant material;
recovered carbon black; and
a sulfur based curing system;
wherein a first sustainable content of the first EPDM rubber compound includes at least the EPDM sustainable polymer and the recovered carbon black of the first EPDM rubber compound;
wherein the cover layer is formed from a second EPDM rubber compound comprising:
an EPDM sustainable polymer including ethylene monomer derived from plant material; and
a sulfur based curing system;
wherein a second sustainable content of the second EPDM rubber compound includes at least the EPDM sustainable polymer of the second EPDM rubber compound;
wherein the reinforcement layer comprises fiber from a sustainable material, and a third sustainable content of the reinforcement layer includes the sustainable material of the fiber; and
wherein a combined total of the first sustainable content, the second sustainable content, and the third sustainable content is an amount greater than 50% by weight based upon total hose weight.
