1. A method of operating an extraction system for recovering solvent from solvent-bearing mass, the method comprising:
introducing, into an extraction vessel cavity containing at least the solvent-bearing mass, a first heated fluid portion via a first input orifice of an extraction vessel, the first heated fluid portion having a first temperature that is at least equal to a boiling point temperature of a first liquid solvent of the solvent-bearing mass;
evaporating, by the first heated fluid portion, a first liquid solvent portion from the solvent-bearing mass, thereby producing a first solvent vapor portion;
collecting at least the first solvent vapor portion after exiting a first output orifice of the extraction vessel; and
substantially containing the first heated fluid portion within the extraction vessel during the collecting at least the first solvent vapor portion step.
