1. A method for treating excessive daytime sleepiness in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering once daily to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of (R)-2-amino-3-phenylpropyl carbamate (APC) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the APC or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered to the subject at least hours before the subject's bedtime.
