1. A method comprising:
providing by a first access node a time-division-duplex (TDD) coverage area on a TDD carrier; and
providing by the first access node, concurrently with the providing of TDD coverage area, a frequency-division-duplex (FDD) coverage area on an FDD carrier, including causing the FDD coverage area to sit at least partially between the TDD coverage area and a coverage area provided by an adjacent second access node,
wherein causing the FDD coverage area to sit at least partially between the TDD coverage area and the coverage area provided by the adjacent second access node comprises (i) restricting service by the first access node on the TDD carrier to be for user equipment devices (UEs) that are relatively close to the first access node and (ii) restricting service by the first access node on the FDD carrier to be for UEs that are relatively far away from the first access node.
