1. A method performed by a session management function (SMF) entity in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a first access and mobility management function (AMF) entity, a first message requesting to release a multi-access packet data unit (MA PDU) session for a terminal, if a second AMF entity does not support an access traffic steering, switching, splitting (ATSSS) function is determined based on information on supported features of the second AMF entity; and
releasing the IA PDU session based on the first message, wherein, in case that the second AMF entity does not support the ATSSS function based on the information, a second message including a user equipment (UE) context is delivered to the second AMF entity, and the UE context does not include a context for the MA PDU session.
