1. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, perform a method of notifying at least one non-participating member of a topic of interest discussed in an unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session in a group-based communication system, the method comprising:
determining, for the at least one non-participating member, a relevancy score for the topic based in part on channel content of at least one group-based communication channel of a plurality of group-based communication channels;
determining, during the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session, the topic of the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session based at least in part on audio data,
wherein the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session is associated with a group-based communication channel of the plurality of group-based communication channels,
wherein the at least one non-participating member is not a member of the group-based communication channel associated with the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session;
identifying, based on the relevancy score for the topic, the at least one non-participating member of the group-based communication system; and
causing display of the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session to the at least one non-participating member by updating, in a user interface of the group-based communication system and during the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session, a list of recommended synchronous multimedia collaboration sessions,
wherein the list of recommended synchronous multimedia collaboration sessions as updated includes contextual data associated with the unscheduled synchronous multimedia collaboration session.
