1. A caregiver assistance system comprising:
(a) a caregiver assistance application embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium and configured to be executed by a server, the caregiver assistance application configured to monitor caregiver rounding tasks, to receive both status data indicating a current state of a patient support apparatus and patient support apparatus configuration data indicating a desired state of the patient support apparatus, and to determine if the current state of the patient support apparatus is or is not in compliance with the patient support apparatus configuration data; and
(b) a software application embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium and configured, when executed by a processor of a mobile electronic device, to cause the mobile electronic device to perform the following:
(i) wirelessly communicate with the caregiver assistance application;
(ii) display rounding information on a display of the mobile electronic device, the rounding information relating to a patient associated with the patient support apparatus
(iii) receive a non-compliance message from the caregiver assistance application if the current state of the patient support apparatus is not in compliance with the patient support apparatus configuration data;
(iv) display a non-compliance indication on the display of the mobile electronic device receives the non-compliance message;
(v) receive rounding data via a user input of the mobile electronic device from a caregiver associated with the patient support apparatus; and
(vi) display a message on the display indicating that that the rounding data will not be forwarded to an electronic medical record of the patient's until the caregiver performs at least one of the following: (a) acknowledges the non-compliance message; or (b) changes the current state of the patient support apparatus to match the desired state of the patient support apparatus.
