an exterior enclosure that accommodates the light source and the light modulator:
a projection lens that projects the light emitted from the light modulator; and
a lens holder accommodated in the exterior enclosure;
wherein the projection lens includes:
a cylindrical section held by the lens holder, provided at one end portion of the projection lens and housing a lens which the light emitted from the light modulator enters;
wherein the lens holder includes:
a first projection lens holder holding the cylindrical section, and
a second projection lens holder holding the cylindrical section at a different position from a position where the first projection lens holder holds the cylindrical section,
wherein the second projection lens holder includes:
an operation section exposed to the outside from the exterior enclosure, and
a protrusion interlocking the operation section,
wherein the cylindrical section includes a recess which is located in a position corresponding to the protrusion of the second projection lens holder and into which the protrusion fit, and
wherein the first projection lens holder is released by a relative pivot between the first projection lens holder and the cylindrical section from a state in which the projection lens is held,
the second projection lens holder holds the projection lens in a state which the protrusion and the recess are fitted with each other, and
the second projection lens holder is released by operating the operation section from the state in which the protrusion and the recess are fitted with each other.
