1. A device for providing output power to electrical equipment, the device comprising:
a housing;
one or more battery cells located within the housing;
a heating element operable to provide heat to the one or more battery cells;
a temperature sensing device operable to sense a temperature associated with the one or more battery cells;
a heating switch operable to control whether power is provided to the heating element;
a charging switch operable to control whether charging power is provided to the one or more battery cells; and
an electronic processor connected to the temperature sensing device, the heating switch, and the charging switch, the electronic processor configured to:
receive a signal from the temperature sensing device indicative of the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells,
determine that the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells is less than a predetermined temperature threshold,
close, in response to determining that the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells is less than the predetermined temperature threshold, the heating switch to provide power to the heating element,
open, in response to determining that the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells is less than the predetermined temperature threshold, the charging switch to prevent charging power from being provided to the one or more battery cells,
determine that the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells is greater than or equal to the predetermined temperature threshold, and
close, in response to determining that the temperature associated with the one or more battery cells is greater than or equal to the predetermined temperature threshold, the charging switch to provide charging power to the one or more battery cells.
