1. A method of controlling a server for providing a battle game between groups, to each of which a plurality of players belong, the method comprising:
providing a battle league comprising each of the groups, each of the groups having a group identifier, wherein each of the plurality of players has a player identifier and wherein each player identifier is paired with no more than one group identifier;
by the server, comparing an activity status of each of the groups to one or more predetermined activity criteria, and identifying an inactive group in the groups based on a failure of the inactive group to meet the one or more predetermined activity criteria;
removing, from the battle league, the inactive group, wherein removing the inactive group from the battle league comprises disabling battle league functionality associated with a group identifier of the inactive group; and
after removing the inactive group from the battle league, pairing at least two active groups as opponents within the battle league and conducting a battle between the at least two active groups.
