1. A surgical instrument, comprising:
a shaft;
an end effector extending from said shaft, wherein said end effector comprises:
a first jaw comprising a jaw frame including a threaded jaw aperture and a distal jaw end; and
a second jaw rotatable relative to said first jaw; and
a firing drive, comprising:
an electric motor comprising a rotatable output;
a rotatable drive shaft rotatably and translatably engaged with said rotatable output, wherein said rotatable drive shaft comprises a proximal threaded portion and a distal threaded portion, wherein said proximal threaded portion is threadably engaged with said threaded jaw aperture, wherein said proximal threaded portion comprises a first thread pitch and said distal threaded portion comprises a second thread pitch which is different than said first thread pitch, and wherein said rotatable drive shaft translates distally toward said distal end when said rotatable drive shaft is rotated in a first direction and translates proximally away from said distal end when said rotatable drive shaft is rotated in an opposite direction; and
a tissue cutting knife threadably engaged with said distal threaded portion, wherein said tissue cutting knife comprises
a knife edge;
a first cam configured to engage said first jaw during a firing stroke;
a second cam configured to engage said second jaw during said firing stroke; and
a threaded drive aperture threadably engaged with said distal threaded portion of said rotatable drive shaft, wherein said tissue cutting knife translates distally relative to said rotatable drive shaft when said rotatable drive shaft is rotated in said first direction and translates proximally relative to said rotatable drive shaft when said rotatable drive shaft is rotated in an opposite direction.
