1. A method of stimulating plant growth in a controlled environment comprising:
providing a cylindrical body having at least one plant disposed therein;
placing a network of lighting elements that produce light at a predetermined wavelength arcuately around the periphery of the cylindrical body adjacent to the plant in order to provide light to the at least one plant; and
rotating the cylindrical body at a predetermined speed relative to the lighting elements to controllably provide predetermined periods of light and dark to stimulate continuous growth of the plant.
